Introduction

Frame No. 1 - Peppermint

Welcome to my photo blog! I hope you enjoy following my adventures in photography, horses and life.

As difficult as it is for me to admit this, I’m starting a blog without a news hook. In reality, there’s no particular reason to establish a blog on March 4, the 63rd day of the year. Actually, I went in search of a news hook but couldn’t come up with anything pertinent, so I decided to choose my three favorite random reasons from the On-This-Day website.

1634 – Samuel Cole opened the first tavern in Boston, Massachusetts. (Taverns make me happy!)

1880 – Halftone engraving was used for the first time when the “Daily Graphic” was published in New York City. (One step closer to In Design!)

1930 – Emma Fahning became the first woman bowler to bowl a perfect game in competition run by the Women’s International Bowling Congress in Buffalo, New York. (My top score of 132 pales in comparison!)

So, here we are. It’s a gorgeous winter/spring afternoon in Virginia, with blue skies and puffy white clouds, and Eddie, the UPS man, just dropped off my new Nikon D3S. What more could you ask for?
