Many of us take our health for granted. I know on most days I do. But then there’s the odd day when my reconstructed knee will tweak, and I’ll think, “Wow, I’d better take it easy for a day until it feels better.” Then I’m on my merry way again, my health and physical status returned back to the back of my mind. But sometimes it’s not that easy to return to normal; sometimes our bodies require more time and even outside intervention to recover. Unfortunately, my friend and trainer had just such a health scare this winter, and I’m thrilled to have him back. We’ve spent a lot of time together in the past few weeks at Jonesborough Farm, and I’ve truly enjoyed our discussions about training techniques, horses and life. And, I realized how much I’ve missed his smile.
