It must be me. I think I’m drawn to horses who must have their noses in everyone’s business. My last horse came with the name Chewy, and he certainly lived up to his name. My current horse, named Teddy, could be considered as snuggly as a teddy bear if he didn’t combine his affectionate nature with his tactile lips and teeth. You’ll just start to think that his mouthiness is all an act, begin to trust him, then he’ll quickly grab your jacket or your sleeve in his teeth.
It’s hard to get angry, though, because when you give him that annoyed look or growl at him, he’ll prick his ears, widen his eyes as if he’s saying, “Oh, so sorry. Just got a bit carried away.” Most of the time, though, Teddy is simply an inquisitive, gregarious guy, always trying to check things out. Even though he’s only just turned 4, he’s quite comfortable around the camera and already knows how to show his best side.
