We spent Easter Sunday enjoying the beauty of a gorgeous spring day in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. After taking the scenic route to Saddlepack Ridge Golf Course near Harrisonburg, we discovered a new paradise for golf. The views from this golf club are breathtaking, and the Forbes family, who designed and built the course in 2003, made the most of the vistas and scenery in their construction.
In addition to the natural beauty, the design incorporates a variety of life-size sculptures, from children playing along the driveway to the clubhouse, to an elk standing guard overlooking the 10th tee. To top off a wonderful day of golf, Cameron spotted a black bear sow and her cub on the first green. We may not have spent Easter in God’s formal house, but we certainly enjoyed all that he’s created in the natural world today.
