Finally, the Stingrays had their first game of the season after rain-outs for the past three weeks. Nerves were on edge. The Stingrays were bumped up to Division 1 this season, where they’ll play teams one year older. Also, with a few absences on this day, the Stingrays only had one reserve player, quite a disadvantage as the blue team had five reserves. Nevertheless, the Stingrays met the challenge head-on. Cameron, who played goalie the first half, came out kicking in the second. After starting on defense, Cameron moved up to the front line after Coach Moy realized his enthusiasm was becoming difficult to check.
All and all, a great way to start the season with a 4-0 victory, confidence regained and knowledge of weak points that need to be strengthened, knees included.
