Flower Gift

Surprised. Flattered. Amazed. Thankful. Thrilled. These are just a few of the myriad thoughts that have crossed my mind over the past 24 hours. I never realized how one photograph could generate so many feelings.

I must admit, I’d never heard of Freshly Pressed. Sure, I’d clicked around on the WordPress.com site now and then for inspiration, but I hadn’t realized what it meant to have a place on the front page. Now I do. After I realized that I was receiving a remarkable number of blog views and comments on the morning of May 16, I tried to figure out why. That’s when I discovered that my little purple flower had landed on Freshly Pressed, and we began a wonderful journey around the world.

I’ve never traveled to Indonesia, India, Russia, Spain, the Philippines, Turkey, Romania, South Africa, just to name a few, but my flower has. And it’s incredible. I am just overwhelmed with the response and appreciate each view, comment, like and subscription that this flower has brought to me, and I’m truly grateful that you all took the time to reach out and touch another human being.

I started this photo blog thinking I’d be sharing my photos and my thoughts with my family and close friends. Each time I “meet” a new person who stumbles upon it and chooses to press the like button or comment, I’m so touched and appreciative. Today has been more than I could have ever imagined. I thank each and every one of you and offer you this pink flower. It’s not nearly the photo that generated the initial response, but it’s a small token of my appreciation. Thank you!

  1. Thanks. I always appreciate the gift of a little piece of nature captured in a photo. I especially enjoy your photos because I have not gotten out to take my own Nature shots in some time–I still write about Nature and share some photos sometimes on my blog, but have not taken new ones lately. Keep up the good work!
