I stopped by Virginia Equine Imaging today to shoot some photos for an upcoming article in In Stride. The bone yard beach on Capers Island is a misnomer. You don’t find bleached whale bones here. Instead, it’s a graveyard for deceased trees, those that have lost their battle to stand up to the relentless pounding surf. I’m not sure if he was thanking us or blaming us for his predicament. One of the best reasons to visit Grandma and Grandpa—other than, of course, hanging out with them—is having a pool out your back door. And with the temperatures soaring to triple digits this week, Cam’s taken advantage of the opportunity to keep cool. With buddies Jacob and Lila by his side in and out of the water, he’s in kid heaven this week. And who could deny that smile says anything else.

A highlight of Father’s Day was spending a leisurely afternoon with the family, watching the U.S. Open Golf Tournament and spending time on the deck. With a hazy overcast sky, it was the perfect day for a portrait shoot. I’m not quite sure what happened this spring. For some reason, the deer haven’t stumbled upon our tiger lilies, and for the first time that I can recall, the plants lining the driveway are actually in full bloom. The Stingrays finished up their successful season with a tough match in the Suburban Friendship League Division 2 Championships this afternoon. This season these 11-year-olds played up an age group, facing kids in the U12 division.
