The Stingrays finished up their successful season with a tough match in the Suburban Friendship League Division 2 Championships this afternoon. This season these 11-year-olds played up an age group, facing kids in the U12 division. The age and size difference was most evident in this title game, with most of the Annandale players towering over the Stingrays. Nevertheless, the Stingrays hung tough, even when their goalkeeper was sent off to the hospital midway through the first half with a dislocated finger. In the end, the Stingrays lost 2-0, but it was a valiant effort, and they finished the season knowing that they rose to the occasion in more ways than one.
