A Celebration

This year’s Fourth of July festivities were more than a celebration of our nation’s birthday. For my friends Mark and Joy, it was a celebration of life. Their annual July 4th gathering of family and friends in Middleburg, Virginia, had a deeper meaning because exactly a year ago Mark was diagnosed with cancer, and he’s been in a tough and courageous battle ever since.

Thus far my daily photography blog has featured one photograph, but on this day I wanted to post two extras, one each for Mark and Joy to celebrate my special friends and neighbors and all the beauty they bring to my life.
