This summer my garden has gotten a bit out of control—OK, well out of control. Each weekend that I anticipate working on it, something more important (or fun!) comes along to drag me away from the dirt, bugs and heat. I really do enjoy the results of an afternoon spent pulling weeds and trimming, and I often wonder why it’s so hard for me to put it at the top of my to-do list. Perhaps it’s the fact that our house is surrounded by woods, and all of my friends (and even Andy the UPS guy) use the garage door, negating the need for a beautiful front walkway.
In any case, my Black-Eyed Susans have taken over this week, even covering the decorative pony, as they expand their territory. The one positive note is that there are so many yellow flowers that you can’t see the weeds growing below.
