It was a beautiful evening to spend watching The Hill School varsity soccer team as they faced Wakefield School in The Plains, Virginia. Wakefield sits on a knoll, overlooking acres of farmland, forests and vineyards. The spectacular views from the soccer field almost prevented me from concentrating on the game, as I kept relocating myself to attempt to get the players in action with the scenic vista in the background.
The Hill School team dropped a goal to Wakefield early on, but Hill fought back and scored three unanswered goals for a final score of 3-1. The sixth-graders made their presence known, with Cameron (pictured) playing well on both offense and defense, Payton making a great defensive play against a much larger opponent, and Connor scoring one of the goals. The only way it could have been better is if some of those great moments had happened without the fence in the background!
It’s a great shot even with the fence. Too bad all the digitial enhancement capabilities out there cannot yet just make the fence invisible. Saves something for really being there!
Love your action shots of the games! Congrats to Cameron and the rest of the team!
I think the fence actually adds to the image and your action shots are super!!! Congrats to all the boys!!!
