The time change this morning was a mixed blessing. Although I was fully able to utilize the extra hour of sleep, unfortunately, my iPhone didn’t reset properly. Instead of my alarm going off at 5:30, I awoke on my own a full 30 minutes late and rushed to get out the door on time to judge a horse show in Potomac, Maryland. Thankfully, everything proceeded smoothly from then on, including a lovely solo ride across the Potomac River at White’s Ferry.
The morning fog still clung to the low lying areas and at the river’s edge, creating a glorious golden sunrise that reflected on the quiet river. As I waited for the ferry to pick me up, I took out my trusty point-and-shoot and caught the beauty of the morning and the start of a wonderful day.
