It’s no surprise, to cover the United States Hunter Jumper Association Annual Meeting I do have to attend a lot of meetings. One of my personal challenges is to try to create interesting and compelling images from all the serious and intense conversations taking place.

While there are certainly moments of confrontation and argument as each side steps up to state his or her case, there are also lighter moments where committee members realize that although they may disagree about a particular issue, they’re all fighting for the same thing—to improve the sport they love.

It’s my responsibility to capture these moments, to illustrate the passion and energy felt while sitting in these meeting rooms and to document the heart and soul of the organization at work for those who were unable to attend. And enjoying a laugh or two along the way is certainly a welcome interlude.
