A walk this evening at The Hill School took me and Peppermint up to the top of the hill to watch the sunset while we gave Cam some extra play time. It was an unseasonably warm day in Virginia (65 degrees), so soaking in the exceptional January evening was a treat. Although we had a lot of work to do tonight–both homework and deadlines–it was just too nice to resist an extra half hour of spring in winter.
I’ve really enjoyed having my horse in my “backyard” the past week, and it’s not just because I’m able to ride and bond with him. It’s also allowed me to once again take the scenic roads home. I sold my last horse in 2008, so it’s been more than three years since I’ve regularly driven down these very secluded roads.
