Recently, I’ve tried to make more time to roam around WordPress to view other blogs. I’ve discovered some wonderful new photographers and writers, including Frizztext, who posts the A-Z Archive Photo Challenge each Tuesday. Well, when this week rolled around and the letter was “H”, how could I not jump in? Here are three of my favorite photos of “Horses” from last week.
During the FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival last weekend I spent some time away from the show ring, taking candid photos and more artistic shots of the horses and riders in the schooling areas and around the barns. In my former career, I rarely had the opportunity to just experiment because I was always focused on photographing the winners, so it’s really a treat to have the freedom to do what I please now. I finally purchased Color Efex Pro 4, so don’t be surprised to see some of these photos in another version down the road. I look forward to following this challenge, and I know that not every week will be this easy!
Oh so very beautiful!
Thank you, Cee. Horses are so photogenic!
Exquisite – really admires some of the most exquisite lines of the horse… they eye… the ear… we need one of the beautiful soft nostril… maybe there is one, I must go look.
Yes, I agree. There are so many artistic aspects to the horse. No wonder some of the first known artistic endeavors of early man were cave paintings of horses!

Thank you for the inspiration! I look forward to continuing on!
I can see why they are your favorites!!!
Yes, I started my photographic journey as a child with a bright red Kodak Instamatic shooting 110 photos. My first roll processed was all horses. Some things never change!
Beautiful horses.
