I had some fun with this week’s Share Your World Challenge, hosted by Cee’s Life Photography Blog.
If you had to move to a state or country besides the one you currently live in, where would you move and why? Although I love my home in Virginia, if I did relocate I’d move to Charleston, South Carolina where my parents live. The climate is perfect (I love hot summers), there are plenty of outdoor activities to do year round and we have great friends there.
If you were a car or truck, what make, model, year and color would you be? I’d be a Chevy Tahoe. I don’t mind getting dirty and going on adventures, but when necessary I can create a nice presentation. I typically carry a lot of gear with me, so I’d need a lot of carrying capacity and I’m proud of my American heritage. Color? Probably black or dark blue since I’m comfortable in those dark shades.
What one thing have you not done that you really want to do? I’d like to take an African safari to photograph the native animals and birds.
Where do you eat breakfast? At my computer, of course!
I’m so glad you participated!! Great answers!! I think breakfast at the computer wins out for the majority of us bloggers!!
Hi Cee! I’m really enjoying your challenges and reading other the other responses. It is a fun way to get to know our fellow bloggers! Many thanks!
Great answers and so much fun. I was late this week as well so am good company I can tell.
Looking forward already to this weeks challenge. Good to meet you!
Thank you for stopping by. It was nice to meet you as well! I enjoyed visiting your blog and look forward to returning!
Great post! I went to college in SC (Furman) but I didn’t graduate from there. My cousin just moved to Charleston and loves it there! SC holds a special place in my heart tho because I’ve been going to the beach (a tiny island called Fripp Island) there for 26 Year’s now. Lovely photo at the top of your post and thank you so much for sharing!
Thanks, Polly! Wow, Fripp Island looks beautiful from Google images! I’ve not been down that far south on the coast, but it must be gorgeous. We used to spend time time at Seabrook and Kiawah when I was growing up, and I loved it. Although I could live without all of the biting insects there ;), it’s a wonderful place!
That is really pretty. Did you try a Orton type effect with this? Colors are great.
Thanks, Kenneth! No, but I’m curious what an Orton type effect would be?
This is just tweaked lightly in Lightroom. It was a foggy morning and I was shooting in brackets for later HDR processing. This is just one frame, though. Maybe the one that was one stop under exposed? I punched up the saturation a bit and added some clarity, but that was about it. I’m looking forward to playing with the HDR when I get my new computer on Monday.
Orton effect is soft focus like effect and saturates the colors. I will try put together something for you, although with the sky so bright on the left it may not work. Would love to see the HDR image of this. Enjoy your new computer and playing in HDR. Should be crazy good.
Dear Tricia you captured so beautiful reflections and the colours are amazing. I loved it, Thank you, with my love, nia
Thank you, Nia! It was such a nice morning for shooting. I got very lucky!
