Carolina Wren
Today I hung a birdseed bell that I received from my parents for Christmas and had a blast observing the results. It was a huge hit with one of our resident Carolina Wrens, which had established a territory in our yard this summer. This bird fought off the Tufted Titmouse and Chickadee for the top spot and returned frequently for refills.
As I crept out with my camera, the bird gave me the evil eye, too. But I did manage to get relatively close before it flew off to watch me from a distant tree and wait for another opportunity.
This winter we filled the yard with a variety of bird feeders, seed and suet, and it’s been great fun to watch the variety of birds (and squirrels) who visit each day.
Absolutely great photo. Birdie wasn’t happy with you prying on him eating…
Thank you, Rayya! I guess this one didn’t realize that posing for photos is part of the deal for being fed all winter!
Cute photo! We also enjoy watching the birds at the feeders. Happy New Year, Tricia!
Hi Karen! Thanks so much for stopping by. Happy New Year to you, too! I’ve really enjoyed watching the birds the past few days as they’ve worked on the bell. Lots of scuffles and entertainment!
