Wake-up Kiss
One of my favorite photo shoots of 2012 was on Ironman’s birthday. His owner called me the morning he was born, and I stopped by their Skyland Farm that afternoon to meet him.
Arriving into the world is tiring business, and Ironman spent a good part of our time together stretched out in the warm grass. His dam, Cirena, would periodically walk over to check on him as she grazed nearby.
It was touching to observe their first day together, and to see how tenderly she looked after him, nuzzling him gently to make sure he was still doing OK.
