I spent most of my day editing images for a variety of projects and clients. It was nice to finally have some time to go through the 1,000+ photos I shot last week, which may sound like an impressive number but was actually about half of my usual for this particular event.
One of the photos that caught my eye was this line up of junior hunters awaiting the announcement of placings and ribbons. The horses’ and riders’ expressions are fascinating to study: some are happy and attentive, some nervous or bored and others grumpy. A split second of time capturing a multitude of emotions.

Looks like a fox hunt!
Yes, it would be quite entertaining to see a fox run though this group!
I love how you have caught those 3 horses on the left having a conversation.
Thank you! Those three horses made me smile, too. You can see so much personality in just a glimpse!
Your perspective and attention to detail always delight me. Thanks for sharing. As pommelpal noted, that little conversation is a treat. Thanks.
Thanks, Patti! Horses are such fun to photograph. You just never know what they’re going to do next!
The three horses on the left having a conversation with the fourth on the left slyly listening in. Very beautiful horses.
Sometimes I forget how clearly horses speak with their body language. We really can learn a lot from them!
