Today’s Macro Monday Photo Challenge worked out well for me. Peppermint and I walked four miles at the park and passed by many beautiful flowering trees.
In addition to adding beauty to our walk, they attracted a number of different birds, which allowed me to work on my IDs in preparation for the upcoming bird surveys for the Virginia Working Landscapes Program.
I had my Audubon app out and enjoyed listening to the birds answer when I chose the right species song. It’s especially rewarding when a bird gives you an A on your quiz.

It must’ve been a pretty day for a walk. Nice of the birds to give you an “A” on the quiz.
Yes, it was a nice day, although a bit chilly and breezy. I’m glad warmer weather is on the horizon, but the dog and birds didn’t seem to mind!
This is a very beautiful shot. You captured both buds and blooms. Congratulations on your A.
Thanks, Gary! I’ve found the iPhone is a pretty good macro camera. I just have to remember to be really careful with the focus and hold my breath when I press the button, then most of them turn out OK.
I can’t remember, do you have an iPhone 4 or 5? Great job on ID’ing the birds while out in the field. I always have to come home to check it out.
I still have the iPhone 4. I’m sure I’ll lose it or drop it one of these days, but (knock on wood) so far it’s been there for me and takes nice photos!
Cameras don’t take pictures. Photographers do. Good or bad its the finget pushong the shutter release that took the picture. You do a great jpb capturing images.
