The Clarke County Crew team had their final game of the year this afternoon, and it was one of their best efforts of the season. Against a tough Loudoun team on their home turn, the Crew dug in and played hard to post a victory 3-1.
In addition to enduring a hot and humid June day, the players (and spectators) had to deal with a bizarre termite swarm that engulfed everyone in flying insects midway through the game.
It’s been great watching Cam on the field this season in a variety of roles. It’s the inaugural year for this team, so whether he’s been asked to play goalie, midfield or on the front line, Cam’s jumped in and given it his all.
Soccer is over for now, but the summer training will continue with practices and camps. And maybe this fall when the games resume, Cam will have accomplished his ultimate summer goal: to grow a few more inches!
Love the action photos, Tricia! Yikes regarding the termite swarm. We have a bumper crop of bugs in Georgia this year, judging by the swarms and bites I have dealt with on the nature trail. Cam is looking so grown up and handsome. And I wouldn’t be surprised if he grows a couple inches this summer!
Termite swarm–that’s scary. Nice set of images that capture a memorable event.
Super action photos Tricia, and Cam sure is growing up to be fine young boy!
You take such stunning sports photos. A truly art mastered. What type of lens did you use?
Sorry for the delay! I primarily use the 70-200 2.8 but sometimes the Sigma 120-300 2.8 depending on the day and field. I have lots of fun with both!
