I enjoyed a weekend in Baltimore, Maryland, at the Inner Harbor, exploring the sights with my family and my camera.
Our hotel room at the Royal Sonesta Harbor Court provided me with a wonderful view of the city and the harbor, so I spent several sessions seated in front of the bow windows playing with camera settings and experimenting.
From this perspective I was able to capture the brilliant lights reflecting off the water before we went out on Saturday evening. While it would have been better not to have a window between my camera and the subject, being six stories up I was OK with the added safety element!
This photo was taken with my Sony A7 and 35mm 2.8 lens and is a 4 second exposure at f10 with an ISO of 200. I edited it slightly in Lightroom.
This image is my entry for this week’s Weekly Photo Challenge: Perspective. There are some really cool entries, so if you have time to check out a few I think you’ll enjoy the many creative variations to this theme.
I love Baltimore 🙂
I grew up in Maryland but didn’t spend much time in Baltimore. It’s a lovely city, and I’m glad I was able to visit again!

Wonderful perspective and clarity!
Thank you so much!
While not a city man myself, although raised in a large one, it’s always refreshing to see a nice night shot of one, particularly where there is a reflection off water. Nice take! 🙂
As for me, this theme was a bit of a challenge, but you’re welcome to come and see my take on the matter. 🙂
