This year’s Upperville Colt & Horse Show, held June 2-8 in Upperville, Virginia, kept me super busy working on content for client websites and my United States Hunter Jumper Association projects. It’s always a highlight of my year to have the show in my backyard, and I spent most of the week there visiting with friends and watching the hunters and jumpers compete.
I also had the privilege of attending the United States Equestrian Federation Hunter Breeding Clinic with judges Julie Winkel and Mindy Minetto. As a USEF Learner Judge, I’m supposed to take these clinics to further my education, but, in reality, I’d jump at the chance anytime for the opportunity to soak up the knowledge these horsemen so generously provided.
I had a great time, too, catching up with old friends taking the clinic, including Beth Nielson, who had coached me and my jumpers when I lived in Ohio back in the late 1990s. We spent Sunday practice-judging the Hunter Breeding classes under the oaks in the Main Ring, and it was a fantastic day of education, camaraderie and beautiful horses.
The photo gallery above includes some of my favorite images from the week.
OH MY….and what a very special treat that you are sharing these beautiful pictures with your readers. Your versatility is amazing……just never know what the next interesting endeavor Tricia is going to be up to. THANK YOU for letting us be a part of it.
Thank you, Lucinda! I appreciate your kind words and for following along with me.
Beautiful set of some beautiful horses (and one puppy dog).
My daughters and I are in SoCal for the next two weeks, for two shows. The plan to come to Virginia didn’t quite work out this time. May be next year.
Hi David! Sorry you won’t make it to Virginia, but maybe next year we can meet in person. Have fun in SoCal and best of luck to your daughters!
