Icy Day

An icy day here in Virginia. Thankfully, we didn’t lose power overnight as often happens when freezing rain and trees mix.

I ventured outside this afternoon to fill the bird feeders and to catch a few images before the next storm rolls in. It was a busy time in the yard, with a variety of new birds joining the feast. There were more than a dozen White-Throated Sparrows, and even a small flock of Cardinals–that have been elusive this season–stopped by for a snack.

2015-01-25_Winter_Booker_0038-EditWhile I do prefer the warmer seasons, winter does bring beauty to our world, and as long as I have full coffers of bird seed and electricity, we all seem to make the best of it.
