An icy day here in Virginia. Thankfully, we didn’t lose power overnight as often happens when freezing rain and trees mix.
I ventured outside this afternoon to fill the bird feeders and to catch a few images before the next storm rolls in. It was a busy time in the yard, with a variety of new birds joining the feast. There were more than a dozen White-Throated Sparrows, and even a small flock of Cardinals–that have been elusive this season–stopped by for a snack.
While I do prefer the warmer seasons, winter does bring beauty to our world, and as long as I have full coffers of bird seed and electricity, we all seem to make the best of it.
The color in that first shot is gorgeous. Les Imgrun tells us to appreciate our winter season just this way. A good example for me, thanks!
Lovely icy images. Did you manage to capture any bird photos Tricia?
