I traveled to Florida today for an assignment, and when I arrived at the airport at 10 a.m., I was struck by how few people were disembarking at the departure level. I walked inside, and there was no one in line at the check-in counter, no one in line at security and just one person with me on the train to my gate.
I was so amazed that I pulled out my iPhone on the escalator to photograph the one person I saw going down while I was going up. I even had an empty seat beside me on the flight. I can’t remember the last time that’s happened.
I try to learn something new every day, and today’s lesson was to travel more often on Tuesday!
Tuesday and Wednesday are usually the cheapest days to fly (if you’re paying out of pocket). I went to Florida a couple of weeks ago. My Tuesday flights were full…the Saturday flights had open seats.
I don’t recall traveling on a Tuesday in a very long time, but now I think I’ll make a point of it. Good to know it’s a cheaper day as well. I enjoyed your zoo photos from Florida, especially the bears in the tree. How cool!
