Today I spent the day photographing some of the most beautiful show hunters in the country that are competing on the Winter Equestrian Festival circuit in Florida. Each year I travel here for World Championship Hunter Rider week, where the hunters are featured.
Unlike show jumpers that compete against the clock, these show horses are judged subjectively on their jumping style and movement. They’re like eye candy for horse lovers!
Here are a few of my favorites.
Really nice shots. I’m jealous of you being in Florida. I’m stuck in Quebec. Are you in Ocala?
Thanks so much! I’m actually in Wellington, Florida, so it is warm. But tomorrow the cold front is coming through and it’s back to wearing layers. But I won’t be complaining!
Don’t talk to me about cold front. It’s -14 right now. 🙂 A friend of mine is covering Hits in Ocala, that’s why I asked. (She does video). I shoot at the Bromont Equestrian Park. Looking forward to more of your shots…without snow. 😀
Great photos.
Thank you very much!
So many greys. It seems they’re not too concerned by the lookalike appearance. Tara’s grey, Brie, occasionally likes to think she’s the only horse of that color. 🙂
It was kind of funny. We usually don’t have that many all in one section. I laughed when they lined up next to one another, so had to get some shots 🙂
Wonderful captures! Stunning horses 🙂
Agree! They are gorgeous and fun to photograph.
Definitely eye candy for horse lovers.
Wow! Your photography is amazing but the horses are also absolutely gorgeous, of course.
