Another Monday and another snow day here in Virginia. I spent the day indoors watching the snow and ice accumulate as I worked on the computer. While I had intended to get outside to photograph the new snow on the mountain, the spitting ice and freezing rain prevented me from venturing out too far. An icy day here in Virginia. Thankfully, we didn’t lose power overnight as often happens when freezing rain and trees mix. Yesterday we received more than 1/4″ of ice during the latest winter storm to hit the East Coast of the United States. While it was beautiful to see, the ice proved problematic for people and wildlife.
