New Year’s Eve in South Carolina means one thing: fireworks, and lots of them. So, Cam, Jacob and I took an evening walk on the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge that crosses over the Cooper River, which divides Mount Pleasant from Charleston. My parents live in a beautiful neighborhood in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, where the developers of the 1980s took extra care to keep as many of the old oak trees as possible when designing the streets and lots. It’s officially Christmas vacation for Cam as of noon today, and he celebrated with his friends at Payton’s birthday party at King Pinz in Leesburg, Virginia. Today I had a few extra minutes before picking Cam up at school, so I took Peppermint for a quick walk. We hiked up to the top of the hill so I could watch the sunset and experiment with my Christmas present: the iPhone 4S.
