Horsemen have a way of reading a horse through his body language, and the eye is one of the most revealing aspects of an equine. Teddy relocated to Hidden Hollow this week in Upperville, Virginia, for the next step in his education. Now that he’s approaching his fifth birthday it’s time for Teddy to figure out what he wants to be when he grows up. Cam and I went out to the barn at 7:30 to oversee Teddy during his turnout this evening. It was his first experience with night turnout, and I wanted to observe him for a while to make sure he was adjusting to his revamped schedule and a new field. Teddy’s been at his new barn for three days, and he’s still having some trouble settling in. Today was Teddy’s big adventure. For the first time in the three years I’ve owned him, he shipped with me in my two-horse trailer. Thus far, he’d traveled to shows in Larry’s large six-horse gooseneck, so today’s excursion in the small trailer was a new experience.
