Capital Challenge

The 10-day Capital Challenge Horse Show concluded yesterday in Maryland, and I’ll admit I was a bit tired driving around the Capital Beltway last night on the way home. USHJA International Hunter Derby Championship

The United States Hunter Jumper Association Annual Meeting is sprinkled with awards ceremonies. I’ve always enjoyed photographing these events as I know how difficult it is to earn one of these coveted awards from the sport’s affiliate organization. During the United States Hunter Jumper Association Annual Meetings, I’m responsible for photographing the receptions and parties. Prior to the event, I carefully prepare my equipment, map out the rooms for lighting and proper angles and stash extra gear if I have an equipment malfunction. Tonight’s grand opening reception at the Dover Saddlery store in Libertyville, Illinois, was everything a horse person loves—new tack, the latest in equipment, stylish attire, tasty food and good conversation.
