Indulge
This week’s WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge is the word “indulge.” My first instinct was to photograph some of my personal indulgences, which include Godiva chocolate, a heated fleece throw and my horse. But, as I was thinking more deeply about the meaning of indulge, I realized that an indulgence isn’t necessarily a tangible item. An indulgence can be just a moment in time, where, for instance, you pause between daily tasks to soak in a ray of sunlight on an otherwise frigid day.

Thank you! Yes, the Cardinal stayed on that branch for a few minutes just sitting while all of the others worked the bird feeder down below. Made for a great model!

Taking time to enjoy a little peace and stillness in our sometimes hectic lives can be the ultimate indulgence. Lovely photo.
The females are often pushed out by the males with regard to being topics of photos. But, the females are quite lovely on their own, as this photo attests.

Thank you! I agree. My two favorite cardinal photos are actually of the females…I think their subtle beauty is sometimes more interesting and photogenic than the bright males.
