Hill School Tree II

Today I had a few extra minutes before picking Cam up at school, so I took Peppermint for a quick walk. We hiked up to the top of the hill so I could watch the sunset and experiment with my Christmas present: the iPhone 4S. I’d heard rave reviews about the camera, and this was my first photo shoot with it. I played with the regular camera functions and used Instagram, which is my favorite App for on-the-go creative filters. Not only is the camera faster, the clarity and details in the images are pretty amazing for a phone.

I’d been toying with idea of upgrading my point-and-shoot to a micro four-thirds camera, which is much more portable than my big DSLR, but now I’m not so sure I’m ready for that investment. I think I’ll spend some time working with the iPhone and experiment with some of the many available photography Apps. It’s great fun to have a nice little camera in your pocket all the time, and even though it won’t be perfect for every situation it might help me think more creatively and expand my vision, which is always my goal in photography anyway!

P.S. If anyone has any iPhone camera App suggestions, feel free to send them my way!
