This week we’ve had a tough transition from the balmy 70s of South Carolina to the frigid temperatures of Virginia in January. Even Peppermint felt the cold today when the high was 19 here on the mountain. She declined to stay outside with me when I hooked up the horse trailer, choosing to huddle on the garage steps waiting for someone to take pity on her and let her inside.
The dusting of snow we received didn’t help either, and the Jack Russell was hard-pressed to leave the front porch even when the temperature rose to 22 degrees this afternoon. Although I felt slightly guilty leaving her outside for a moment while I shot this photo, maybe a little extra time in the cold will thicken her blood or at least burn a few extra calories…and at least I didn’t leave her outside while I edited the photo and played with Photoshop filters!
How can one resist a face like that? Love it.
She’s cute and she knows it, which makes for a very challenging dog!
Peppermint sure is a cutie! It’s been frigid here too. One pup wanted to stay inside where it is cozy and the other..cold…what cold?
She is a real wimp when it comes to the cold…but I guess she takes after me!
